On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at approximately 7:26 AM The Shiloh Police Department Received a report of a possible aggravated criminal sexual abuse, which occurred in the 300 block of North Main Street.

After completing an investigation, it was determined that between the dates of December 1, 2014 and February 1, 2015 a female, who at the time was a 21-years old, had a sexual relationship with the victim, who at the time was a 13-year-old male. The case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

On Thursday, April 6, 2017, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Bernadette Schrempp issued warrant #17CF0044701 for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 2 Felony, charging Brandolyn Smoot, 23, of the 300 block of North Main Street in Shiloh with the above crime. 

The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Jan Fiss and he set Smoot’s bond at $50,000.  Smoot was taken into custody on Friday, April 7, 2017.  She is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
