Aggravated Battery to Child
On Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at approximately 12:05 AM, The Shiloh Police Department began an investigation into a domestic battery which occurred in the 1st block of Yorkshire Lane. The reporting party indicated that a child under thirteen years of age had been struck several times by a family member. The child received medical treatment at a local hospital as a precaution and was released.
The suspect was taken into custody on Thursday, September 14, 2017 and the results of this investigation were submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
On Friday, September 15, 2017, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Judy Dalan issued a two-count warrant; warrant #17CF0118701 for Aggravated Battery to Child, a Class 3 Felony, and warrant #17CM0003509 for Domestic Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor, charging Franklin C. Edwards, 32, of the 1st block of Yorkshire Lane in Shiloh with the above crimes.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Jan Fiss and he set Edwards’ bond at $75,000. Edwards is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
