On Monday, July 4, 2016 at approximately 2:20 AM The Shiloh Police Department was dispatched to McDonalds located at 1153 North Greenmount Road to check the well-being of a seventeen year old female that was stranded at the business.

An Officer made contact with the female and gave her a ride to her residence located in the 1400 block of North Lincoln Avenue in O’Fallon.  The Officer attempted to make contact with the juvenile’s parent and continue the investigation.  The male suspect at the residence refused to comply with the Officer and resisted arrest.  Assistance was requested from the O’Fallon Police Department.  They responded to the scene and all Officers took the suspect into custody.  The suspect continued to be combative towards the Officers while being taken into custody.

During the incident, the Shiloh Police Officer received a minor injury that did not require medical treatment.  The results of the investigation were presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

On Tuesday, July 6, 2016, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrant #16CF0088801 for Resisting a Peace Officer/Injury, a Class 4 Felony, and warrant #16CM0003115 for Resisting a Peace Officer, a Class A Misdemeanor, charging Erik S. Brooks, 48, of the 1400 block of North Lincoln Avenue in O’Fallon with the above crimes.

The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge John Baricevic and he set Brooks’ bond at $20,000.  Brooks is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
