On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at approximately 5:45 PM officers with the Shiloh Police Department responded to a vehicle accident that occurred on Hartman Lane at the intersection with Thouvenot Lane, in which the suspect vehicle had left the scene. Dispatch advised responding officers that Swansea Police had the suspect vehicle stopped on a parking lot near the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Lebanon Avenue in Belleville. A Shiloh officer responded to that location and the suspect was taken into custody. A subsequent investigation ensued.
Once completed, this case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
On Tuesday, November 30, 2016, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrant #16CF0150801 for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Felony, #16DT0000895 and #16DT0000896 for Driving Under the Influence, both Class A Misdemeanors and #16TR0035959 Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Property Damage, a Class A Misdemeanor charging George W. Kinder, 20, of the 200 block of Summers Trace in Belleville with the above crimes.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Jan Fiss and he set Kinder’s bond at $50,000. Kinder is currently at large.
