On Monday, May 22, 2017, Officers with the Shiloh Police Department responded to Memorial Hospital East, 1404 Cross Street in reference to a combative patient.  Upon arrival, Officers made contact with a male subject in one of the emergency rooms.  The subject attempted to flee and when stopped by a Shiloh Officer, he became physically combative and struck two Officers.

One Officer suffered minor injuries during the altercation and was treated and released from Memorial East.  The second Officer did not report any injury.  The results of the investigation were submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

On Wednesday, May 24, 2017, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrant #17CF0063301, #17CF0063302, #17CF0063303 for Aggravated Battery, a Class 2 Felony, #17CF0063304 Resisting A Police Officer, a Class 4 Felony, and #17CM0001882 Resisting A Police Officer, a Class A Misdemeanor charging Ryan Y. Ashford, 24, of the 1500 block of Sinking Springs Drive in O’Fallon with the above crimes. 

The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Jan Fiss and he set Ashford’s bond at $75,000.  Ashford is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
