On Saturday, May 28, 2017, at approximately 1:48 a.m., an Officer with the Shiloh Police Department was on patrol when he observed a subject acting suspiciously outside of Circle K, 1242 Thouvenot Lane in Shiloh.
The Officer entered the business and made contact with the employees to inquire about the suspicious subject. The employees advised the Officer the subject may have committed a theft of merchandise from the store. The Officer left the store and observed the subject walking north on Hartman Lane at Kingsley Drive. Contact was made with the subject and it was discovered that he had a bottle of alcohol concealed under his clothing. Upon further investigation, it was discovered the subject had taken the alcohol without paying for it. The subject was taken into custody without incident.
On Sunday, May 28, 2017, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Chris Allen issued warrant #17CF0065901 for Retail Theft Subsequent, a Class 4 Felony, charging William C. Bowen, 24, of the 200 block of Meadow Brook Drive in O’Fallon, with the above crime.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge john O’Gara and he set Bowen’s bond at $50,000. Bowen is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
