NEWS RELEASE - Unlawful Possession of Vehicle Temporary Registration

On Monday, June 17th, 2019, a Shiloh Police Officer was on patrol when he observed a temporary registration on the back of a vehicle. A computer check of the temporary registration revealed the registration was stolen out of East St. Louis, Illinois. The Officer conducted a vehicle stop. A computer check of the driver revealed he had a revoked Driver’s License, as well as multiple warrants. The driver was taken into custody. This case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
On Wednesday, June 19th, 2019, Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrant #19CF0093501 for Unlawful Possession of Vehicle Temporary Registration, a Class 4 Felony and #19CM0017869 for Driving While License Revoked, a Class A Misdemeanor, charging John Cureton, 36, of the 500 block of Anderson Lane, Shiloh, Illinois with the above crimes.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Heinz Rudolf who set Cureton’s bond at $10,000 with 10% applying. Cureton is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
