NEWS RELEASE - Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle

On Thursday, June 27th, 2019, a Shiloh Police Officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle traveling at a slow rate of speed northbound on North Green Mount Road. Upon running a computer check of the registration number, the Officer observed the registration to be stolen out of Tennessee. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. The Officer then ran the VIN of the vehicle through dispatch and it was determined the vehicle was stolen out of Florida. The occupants were taken into custody without incident. This case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

On Friday, June 28th, 2019, Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrant #19CF0101401 for Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, a Class 2 Felony, and #19CF0101402 for Unlawful Possession of Vehicle Registration, a Class 4 Felony, charging Kyle Moore, 29, of the 700 block of Newfound Harbor Drive, Merritt Island, Florida with the above crimes. Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester also issued warrant #19CF0101501 for Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, a Class 2 Felony, and #19CF0101502 for Unlawful Possession of Vehicle Registration, a Class 4 Felony, charging Vanessa Goddard, 19, of the 200 block of Laurel Oak Street, Melbourne, Florida with the above crimes.

 The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Julie Katz who set Moore and Goddard’s bond at $50,000 each, with 10% applying. Moore and Goddard are currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
