NEWS RELEASE - Aggravated Battery/Resisting a Police Officer

On Friday, January 17, 2020 Shiloh Officers responded to the 200 block of Aquarius Drive in reference to a subject possibly having seizures. Upon their arrival, the subject was not having seizures, and the subject was naked, and was throwing objects, and attempting to run down the street. While trying to subdue the subject, he began biting and scratching the officers and EMS personnel. A Shiloh Officer received non-life-threatening injuries which were treated on site. The subject was transported to a medical facility for evaluation. The case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued a two-count warrant #20CF0029801 for Aggravated Battery, a Class 2 Felony, and #20CM0000482 for Resisting a Police Officer, a Class A Misdemeanor, each charging Micah I. Hardin, 22, with the above crimes.

 The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge John O’Gara who set Hardin’s bond at $40,000. Hardin is still currently at large.

*All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
