On Sunday, November 29, 2020 the Shiloh Police Department were dispatched to the area of Frank Scott Parkway at Hartman Lane for a reckless driver, a truck driving in the opposite lane of traffic. Officers located the truck on a parking lot in the area. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the operator of the vehicle was impaired. The vehicle operator was taken into custody and the case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office.
On Monday, November 30, 2020 Assistant State’s Attorney Beth Nester issued a two-count warrant #2020WA02160 for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, a Class 2 Felony, and warrant #20TR0022475 for Driving While License Suspended, a Class A Misdemeanor, both charging Thomas D. Schutz, 50, of the 6000 block of Heritage Station Road in Belleville with the above crimes.
The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Robert Haida who set Schutz’s bond at $120,000 with 10% to apply. Schutz is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail.
