On December, 1, 2020, the Shiloh Police Department received an email containing information of alleged animal abuse at a residence located in the 1st block of Sarpy Rd. During the course of the investigation, it was determined a two-month-old female kitten was deceased and a six-month-old female terrier puppy was severely injured to the point it was surrendered to the St. Louis Stray Rescue due to the owner not being able to pay for the medical expenses of the animal. The case was presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s office for review.
On Wednesday, March 30, 2021, Assistant States Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued a two-count warrant #21CF0049501 and #21CF0049502 for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, both Class 4 Felonies, charging Tyreeck A. McCray, 21, of the 1500 block of Scoter Court in Swansea with the above crimes.
The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge John O’Gara who set McCray’s Bond at $150,000.00 with 10% applying. McCray is currently at large.
