On Friday, April 24th, 2020 at approximately 10:04 p.m., Shiloh Officers were dispatched to the 1st block of Yorkshire Lane, Shiloh, Illinois in reference to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, Shiloh Officers determined a burglary was not in progress, but rather a domestic disturbance was occurring. After obtaining all involved parties’ information, it was learned one party had an active arrest warrant. That subject was taken into custody. A subsequent inventory search of the arrestee’s vehicle yielded a firearm inside the vehicle. The case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review after completing requested follow up investigation on the case.
On Thursday, September 17th, 2020, Assistant State’s Attorney Martin Plute issued warrant #20CF0127301 for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon, a Class 4 Felony, charging Corey D. Shanklin, 30, of the 5200 block of Vera Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri with the above crime.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge John O’Gara who set Shanklin’s bond at $35,000 with 10% applying. Shanklin is currently at-large.
