On Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at approximately 2:39 p.m., Shiloh Officers were dispatched to Memorial Hospital East, located at 1404 Cross Street, Shiloh, Illinois in reference to a combative patient in the emergency room. Upon arrival, the suspect was being physically restrained by hospital personnel. Officers were advised the patient struck a member of emergency room personnel with his fist. The victim sustained significant injuries from the battery. A short time later, Shiloh Officers responded back to the emergency room for a report of the same patient physically battering a different member of emergency room personnel. The victim in this instance was kicked in the stomach by the patient. This case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
On Tuesday, December 8th, 2020, Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrants #20CF0169701, #20CF0169702, and #20CF0169703, all for Aggravated Battery, Class 3 Felonies, charging Jeffrey J. Suggs, 33, of the 600 block of South 19th Street in Belleville, Illinois with the above crimes.
The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge John O’Gara who set Sugg’s bond at $25,000 with 10% applying. Suggs is currently at large.
