NEWS RELEASE - Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon

On Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:41 P.M. the Shiloh Police Department made a traffic stop in the area of Hartman Lane and Three Rivers Drive for a traffic violation.  During the traffic stop, probable cause was made to search the vehicle, and drugs and multiple firearms were located in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.  The driver and a passenger in the vehicle were taken into custody, and two other passengers were released.  The case was presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for warrant review.

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, St. Clair County Assistant States Attorney Lauren Youngblood issued warrant #21CF0133501 for Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in a vehicle while unloaded, a Class 4 Felony, charging Stanmon D. Smith, 22,  of the 1st  block of Edwards Street in Cahokia Heights, and warrant #21CF0133401 for Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in a vehicle while loaded, a Class 4 Felony, charging Antonio T. Harris, 20, of the 6300 block of West Washington Street in Belleville with the above crimes.

The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge William G. Clay IV who set both Smith and Harris’ bond at $40,000.00 with 10% applying. Both Smith and Harris are currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
