NEWS RELEASE - Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon

On Friday, April 23rd, 2021 at approximately 12:44 a.m., Shiloh Officers were dispatched to the area of North Green Mount Road at Four Pines Lane, Shiloh, Illinois in reference to a suicidal subject armed with a loaded gun. While en-route, dispatch advised the responding Officers the subject with the firearm was a convicted felon. Upon arrival, Officers located the subject hiding in a ditch just off North Green Mount Road. The subject was taken into custody without incident and a loaded firearm was found to be in his possession. This case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
On Friday, April 23rd, 2021, Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrant #21CF0063801 for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon, a Class 3 Felony, charging Seth J. Karrer, 29, of the 2900 block of Harvest Meadow Drive, Belleville, Illinois with the above crime.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge John O’Gara who set Karrer’s bond at $50,000 with 10% applying. Karrer is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
