On Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 9:49 p.m. The Shiloh Police Department made a traffic stop in the area of North Greenmount Road and Westinghouse Drive for a traffic violation. During the stop, the driver was taken into custody for an In-State Warrant. During a search incident to arrest, the driver was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun magazine. During an inventory of the vehicle, a loaded and accessible handgun was located. The case was presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for warrant review.
On Monday, March 14, 2022, St. Clair County State’s Attorney Beth Nester issued warrant #22CF0035901 for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, a Class 4 Felony, charging Cornellius T. Leflore, 22, of the 1400 block of Trendley Avenue in East St. Louis with the above crime.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Zina Cruse who set Leflore’s bond at $60,000.00 with 10% applying. Leflore is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
