On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at approximately 12:37 P.M., Shiloh Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was found during the traffic stop that the driver’s license was revoked and he was taken into custody. Further investigation revealed the driver had previously been convicted of Driving on a Revoked License- Subsequent. The case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for warrant review.
On Thursday, June 15, 2023 St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrant #23CF0104501 for Driving While License is Revoked - Subsequent, a Class 4 Felony, charging Shelby W. Smith, 44, of the 500 block of Southview Drive in Waterloo, Illinois with the above crime.
The warrant was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Zina Cruse who set Smith’s bond at $20,000 with 10% to apply. Smith is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
