On Sunday, August 6, 2023 at approximately 9:29 P.M. Shiloh Officers were called to a residence in the 300 Block of North Main Street in Shiloh in reference to a possible domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect and victim. The victim was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. After speaking with all parties on scene, the suspect was taken into custody. The case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for warrant review.
On Tuesday, August 8, 2023 St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Mel Kimberlin issued a three-count warrant# 23CF0137701 for Aggravated Domestic Battery/Great Bodily Harm, a Class 2 Felony, #23CF0137702 for Domestic Battery/Physical Contact, a Class A Misdemeanor, and #23CF0137703 for Cause Child to be Endangered, a Class A Misdemeanor, each charging Carlos D. Canter, 52, of the 300 block of North Main Street in Shiloh, Illinois with the above crimes.
