On Thursday, September 21, 2023 at approximately 12:40 PM, Officers from the Shiloh Police Department were notified of an unlawful use of credit card that took place at multiple businesses in Shiloh. Officers spoke with the victim and through an investigation probable cause was developed to arrest a suspect for burglarizing a vehicle at a business in O’Fallon and subsequently using stolen credit/debit cards in Shiloh.
On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, St. Clair County Assistant State Attorney Tara Mendola issued warrant #23CF0170701 for Burglary Without Causing Damage, a Class 3 Felony, and warrant #23CF0170702 for Fraud Use Credit/Debit Card/>300, a Class 3 Felony, both charging Mason E. Wachman, 26, Homeless, with the above crimes.
The warrants were reviewed and signed by St. Clair County Judge Sarah Rice. Wachman is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail pending pre-trial release proceedings.
