Contact Number: 618-632-9047

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at approximately 8:24 PM, Shiloh Police Officers were dispatched to King’s Mart located at 1551 Hartman Lane for a report of gun shots fired in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, all involved parties had already left the scene.  Through investigation, it was determined that a verbal altercation began inside the business between two adult males.  One individual displayed a firearm inside the store during the argument.  The situation escalated into the parking lot where the second individual obtained a firearm from his vehicle.  He proceeded to discharge multiple rounds in the direction of the other individual’s vehicle as he drove away from the business.  Fortunately, no one was struck by any of the gun shots fired from this incident.  However, customers at the business and residents in the surrounding neighborhood were placed in unnecessary danger.  The results of this investigation were submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

On Tuesday, April 16, 2024 St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Erica Mazzotti issued the following warrants related to the case:

  • Warrant #24CF0063401 for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, a Class 4 Felony, charging Steven L. Hawkins, 24, of the 100 block of York Port Drive in Shiloh with the above offense.
  • Warrant #24CF0063501 for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, a Class 1 Felony, and Warrant #24CF0063502 for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, a Class 4 Felony, both charging Anthony D. White, 20, of the 2300 block of Richland Prairie Boulevard in Shiloh with the above offenses.

All warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Sara Rice and she signed the warrants valid.  Hawkins and White are both in custody at the St. Clair County Jail pending their pre-trial detention hearings.

*All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
