On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at approximately 12:00 A.M., the Shiloh Police Department was on routine patrol when they observed a suspicious vehicle parked with their lights off on private property in the 2400 block of Country Road. Officers made contact with the driver and the passenger of the vehicle. During their investigation, they found a large amount of cannabis in the vehicle. As a result, the driver was arrested. The passenger was arrested as well for an outstanding warrant. The case was submitted to the St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office for warrant review.
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, St. Clair County Assistant State's Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued warrants, 24CF0114401, for Unlawful Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cannabis, a Class 3 Felony, and 24CF0114402 for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, a Class 4 Felony, both charging Julius B. Caldwell, 18, of the 2200 Block of Holebrooke Drive in Shiloh with the above crimes.
The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Sara Rice, who signed the warrants valid. Caldwell is currently in the custody of the St. Clair County Jail.
