On Friday January 30th, 2026, The Shiloh Police Department was contacted by the St. Louis County Police Department in reference to an ongoing investigation of an inappropriate sexual relationship between a Ju-Jitsu instructor and a teenage female student who belonged to a gym in their venue, and of possible incidents which occurred at the suspect’s residence in Shiloh venue.
On Monday February 2, 2026, the victim provided a statement to Detectives from both agencies which provided critical information to the investigation. On Wednesday February 4th, the suspect was taken into custody by the Shiloh Police. The ongoing investigation which included the service of multiple Search Warrants was jointly conducted by Detectives from St. Louis County and the Shiloh Police Department, and on Thursday April 5th, the case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for warrant review.
On Friday February 6th 2026, The St. Clair County State's Office issued a thirteen-count warrant, 2026CF000238, for Criminal Sexual Assault, (5 counts) a Class One Criminal Felony, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse (5 counts) a Class Two Criminal Felony, Child Sexual Abuse Material (Two Counts), a Class One Criminal Felony, and Unlawful Grooming, a Class Four Criminal Felony, charging Kody R Strunk, 32, of the 100 Block of Kathy Drive in Shiloh with the above crimes.
The warrant was reviewed by a St. Clair County Judge, who signed the warrant valid. Strunk is currently in the custody of the St. Clair County Jail.
