NEWS RELEASE - Shiloh Police Department releases holiday enforcement numbers

Shiloh, IL – The Shiloh Police Department issued 12 seat belt and child safety seat citations during the recent holiday enforcement effort.

The Shiloh Police Department also took the following enforcement actions:

  • 5 warrant arrests
  • 1 vehicle fled from a traffic stop
  • 3 citations for distracted driving
  • 3 citations for operating uninsured vehicle
  • 3 citations for disobeying a traffic control device
  • 2 citations for speeding
  • 2 citations for registration violations
  • 3 citations for additional traffic violations
  • 12 written warnings for traffic violations

Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more people buckled up. The enforcement campaign took place from Dec. 17 through Jan. 3.

During the mobilization, extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.

The holiday enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
