Shiloh does not have a library district in its corporate boundaries. Since Shiloh residents do not pay the tax to support the area public libraries that neighboring residents pay on their property taxes, they are considered non-residents and are subject to the charges below for library use.
Southwestern Illinois College Library
Residents of District #522 who are 18 years of age or older and not enrolled or employed by Southwestern Illinois College may register for a community library card. An annual card fee of $25 is charged. Proof of age and residence (tax, utility bill, etc.) are required.
O’Fallon Public Library (O’Fallon Township High School District 203 Residents):
O’Fallon Public Library’s Non-Resident fee is calculated using a tax bill method (as voted on by the Library Board of Trustees). Nonresidents who choose to purchase cards must provide the documentation necessary to calculate the fee. In most cases, this will be a current tax bill or rental agreement. The nonresident family fee is paid annually. A family is defined as individuals residing at the same address.
Belleville Public Library (Belleville Township High School District 201 Residents):
Belleville Public Library’s Non-Resident fee is $70.00 per year, per household. To obtain a card you need your photo ID – either a driver’s license or state ID – and a piece of business mail (utility bill, bank statement, etc.)
Fairview Heights Public Library (Belleville Township High School District 201 Residents):
Non-residents may purchase cards for $86.00 per year, per household. To obtain a card you need your photo ID – either a driver’s license or state ID – and a piece of business mail (utility bill, bank statement, etc.)
