· Valid for three years.
Non-Resident Cards: · For those residing outside the O'Fallon city limits and not within another public library's taxing area.
· Fees are calculated using the tax bill method:
Homeowners: Annual fee = Net Taxable Value × Library's Current Tax Rate. Example: A home with a $25,000 Net Taxable Value would incur an annual fee of approximately $42 (note: the tax rate may vary slightly each year).
Renters: Annual fee = 10% of monthly rent. § Example: A monthly rent of $800 would result in an annual fee of $80.
Fairview Heights Public Library charges an annual non-resident fee of $108.00 per household.
The Kaskaskia Library System, now part of the Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS), supports reciprocal borrowing in Southern Illinois. Reciprocal borrowing allows patrons of one public library to access materials from other participating public libraries within the system. This initiative provides walk-in, physical access to the collections of over 650 public libraries in Illinois, enhancing resource availability for residents.
