NEWS RELEASE - Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding

On Sunday, August 11th, 2019 at 2:36 P.M. the Shiloh police were contacted by loss prevention officers from Target located at 3400 Greenmount Crossing in Shiloh reporting a retail theft in progress. While responding, our officers were advised the suspect was attempting to flee the scene. Shiloh officers arrived on scene and made a traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect refused to step out of the vehicle and did not follow the officer’s directions. When the officer attempted to open the driver’s side door the suspect fled the scene, and the Shiloh officer received an injury to their wrist which did not require any medical attention. The vehicle disregarded all traffic signals and fled the scene.  This case was submitted to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

On Thursday, October 31st, 2019, Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Nester issued a 4-count warrant, warrant #19CF00166101 for Resisting a Police Officer, a Class 4 Felony, #19CF0166102 Aggravated Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, a Class 4 Felony, #19CM0003836 for Retail Theft, a Class A Misdemeanor, and #19TR0030928 for Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, a Traffic Offense, charging Lloydia N. Sayles, 37, of the 4000 block of Tudor Avenue in East St. Louis with the above crimes.

 The warrants were reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Julie Katz who set Sayles bond at $10,000. Sayles is currently at large.
